The 14'er: Oil-Tanned Buffalo Leather Belt Strap

I handcraft The 14'er in Colorado Springs, Colorado, from one solid piece of full-grain buffalo leather. This is a replacement strap only—no buckle is included—and the oil-tanned finish gives the leather a softer feel with natural tonal variation.

Product Features

  • Full-grain buffalo leather
  • One-piece strap with no bonded layers or fillers
  • Oil-tanned finish
  • 1.5 inches wide (38mm)
  • Available in Black, Brown, and Tan
  • Two heavy-duty snaps for easy buckle changes
  • Matching leather keeper included
  • Buckle not included
  • Handcrafted in Colorado Springs, Colorado

The oil-tanned finish helps the leather flex comfortably while preserving the natural grain. Expect subtle variation in color and surface character from strap to strap.

Use Your Own Buckle

The snap system makes it easy to remove and replace your buckle. The strap is designed for buckles that fit a 1.5-inch belt. You can also browse our belt buckle collection for compatible options.

How to Choose Your Size

Do not order your pants size. Lay a belt that fits you flat and measure from the start of the leather at the buckle fold to the hole you use most often.

That measurement is the belt size to order. If your measurement is an odd number, round up to the next even size. For example, a 37-inch measurement means ordering size 38.

Review our belt sizing guide before ordering. Contact me if you need help choosing a size.

Leather Care

Wipe away dust with a soft cloth. Use a slightly damp cloth when needed and allow the leather to dry naturally. Condition sparingly when the strap begins to feel dry.

  • Cleaning: Wipe away dust and surface dirt with a clean, soft cloth. Use a slightly damp cloth when necessary, but do not soak the leather.
  • Conditioning: Apply leather conditioner only when the leather begins to feel dry. Always test it on a small, inconspicuous area first because conditioner may darken or alter the finish.
  • Drying: Allow wet leather to air-dry naturally. Do not use a hair dryer, heater or direct sunlight.
  • Storage: Store the belt in a cool, dry place. Hang it by the buckle or roll it loosely—never fold it sharply.

Not Sure About Your Belt Size?

Before ordering, measure a belt that fits from the beginning of the leather at the buckle fold to the hole you use most. Do not include the buckle or rely on your pants size. Our sizing guide walks you through it, and we can help if you have questions.
