This 1.75-inch Crazy Horse Brown triple-prong leather belt is built for people who like a wider belt, substantial leather, and the rugged character of a true pull-up finish.
I make each belt in my Colorado Springs workshop from one solid piece of full-grain buffalo leather. The Crazy Horse finish gives the leather natural variation, lighter and darker areas, visible grain, and the broken-in appearance that makes this style so distinctive.
Instead of trying to make every belt look perfectly uniform, this leather is meant to show its character. Bending, flexing and everyday wear can shift the oils within the hide, creating subtle changes in tone and a patina that becomes more personal over time.
What Makes Crazy Horse Leather Different?
Crazy Horse leather is known for its rugged pull-up appearance rather than a perfectly even surface color.
When the leather bends or flexes, oils and waxes within the hide move slightly, causing portions of the leather to appear lighter. That movement creates the highlights, depth and distressed character associated with Crazy Horse leather.
The result is a belt that can look slightly different depending on the lighting, angle and natural grain of the individual hide. Small variations in shade and texture are normal and are part of the appeal of this leather.

One Solid Piece of Full-Grain Buffalo Leather
This is not a laminated or bonded leather belt. I cut it from one solid piece of full-grain buffalo leather, with no synthetic filler or hidden interior layer.
Full-grain leather retains the natural surface of the hide, which is why you may see differences in grain, creasing and texture from one belt to another.
At approximately 10 oz, the leather has a substantial feel without being excessively bulky. Combined with the 1.75-inch width, it creates a belt with noticeably more presence than a standard casual belt.

The Triple-Prong Design
The defining feature of this belt is its wide triple-prong buckle.
Three separate prongs engage three aligned rows of fitting holes across the leather. On a belt this wide, that design gives the buckle and strap a balanced, substantial appearance that a smaller single-prong buckle would not provide.
The triple-prong style is especially well suited to people who want something more distinctive than a traditional everyday belt.

A True 1.75-Inch Wide Belt
At 1.75 inches wide, this belt is wider than the more common 1.5-inch casual belt.
The extra width gives the belt a strong visual presence and makes it a natural match for the triple-prong buckle. It also means you should check the belt loops on the pants you plan to wear.
Many jeans and work pants will accommodate a 1.75-inch belt, but loop size varies by manufacturer.

Built for a Rugged, Broken-In Look
One of the reasons I like Crazy Horse buffalo leather is that it does not look overly polished or artificial.
The pull-up finish can show lighter areas where the leather bends, along with darker areas where the oils remain more concentrated. Over time, those changes become part of the belt's natural patina.
That makes this a particularly good choice if you prefer leather that develops character instead of staying perfectly uniform.
Handmade in Colorado Springs
I make this belt in my Colorado Springs, Colorado workshop. I cut and prepare the leather, punch all three rows of fitting holes, install the buckle and keeper, and complete the final assembly here in my shop.
I have been selling leather belts since 2002. My goal has always been straightforward: use good leather, pair it with hardware that fits the design, and make a belt that feels like real leather from the first time you put it on.
How to Order the Correct Belt Size
Do not order your pants size.
The most accurate way to determine your belt size is to measure a belt you already wear.
- Lay your current belt flat.
- Measure from the beginning of the leather at the buckle fold to the fitting hole you use most often.
- Do not include the buckle itself in the measurement.
- That measurement is the size you should order. If your measurement is an odd number, round up to the next even size.
For example, if your belt measures 37 inches, order a size 38. If it measures 40 inches, order a size 40.

Caring for Crazy Horse Buffalo Leather
Crazy Horse leather generally does not require much maintenance.
For ordinary dirt, wipe the belt with a clean, soft cloth. If it becomes wet, allow it to dry naturally at room temperature rather than using direct heat.
Because this is an oil-rich pull-up leather, I recommend conditioning only when the belt begins to feel genuinely dry. Applying too much conditioner can darken the leather and temporarily reduce some of the lighter pull-up contrast.
Natural changes in shade, creasing and surface character are normal as the belt is worn.
If you want a substantial triple-prong belt with a more rugged appearance than traditional smooth brown leather, the Crazy Horse Brown version is a great fit. - Cleaning: Wipe away dust and surface dirt with a clean, soft cloth. Use a slightly damp cloth when necessary, but do not soak the leather.
- Conditioning: Apply leather conditioner only when the leather begins to feel dry. Always test it on a small, inconspicuous area first because conditioner may darken or alter the finish.
- Drying: Allow wet leather to air-dry naturally. Do not use a hair dryer, heater or direct sunlight.
- Storage: Store the belt in a cool, dry place. Hang it by the buckle or roll it loosely—never fold it sharply.
