The Rancher: Amish Made Heavy-Duty Embossed Leather Belt
Built for hard use and made with old-fashioned American craftsmanship, The Rancher is a heavyweight brown leather belt designed for customers who want a belt that feels every bit as substantial as it looks.
Handmade by Amish craftsmen in Ohio, The Rancher is cut from premium Wickett & Craig full-grain English bridle leather. At approximately 13–14 oz, this is one of our thickest and heaviest leather belts — made from one solid piece of stiff cowhide with no bonded leather, fillers, cardboard, or imitation materials.
Decorative embossed lines and embossed stitching run the length of the strap, giving The Rancher a distinctive Western-inspired appearance without being overly ornate. Pair it with jeans, boots, workwear, or everyday casual clothing for a classic look built around serious leather.

Heavyweight Wickett & Craig Bridle Leather
The Rancher starts with exceptional leather. Each belt is made from 13–14 oz full-grain English bridle leather from Wickett & Craig, one of America's best-known traditional leather tanneries.
This is not the thin, flexible leather commonly found in mass-produced belts. The Rancher has a firm, substantial feel and is designed to resist stretching, sagging, and premature wear.
Because the belt is made from one solid piece of full-grain cowhide, there are no hidden layers or inexpensive materials inside the strap. What you see is what you get: a serious piece of heavyweight leather.
Distinctive Embossed Western Styling
The Rancher features a combination of embossed border lines and embossed stitching running along the length of the belt. The detail gives the belt the appearance of traditional stitched leather while maintaining the strength and simplicity of a solid one-piece strap.
The result is a rugged Western-inspired design that stands out more than a plain leather belt without becoming overly decorative.
Heavy-Duty Removable Stainless Steel Buckle
A substantial belt needs equally substantial hardware.
The Rancher comes equipped with a heavy-duty stainless steel roller buckle designed for dependable everyday use. The roller helps the leather move smoothly through the buckle while reducing unnecessary friction on the strap.
The buckle is attached using Chicago screws, providing a strong and reliable connection while allowing the buckle to be removed. If you have a favorite Western, trophy, or other compatible buckle, you can easily replace the included buckle with your own.
Handmade in Ohio Amish Country
The Rancher is handmade by Amish craftsmen in Ohio using traditional construction methods and premium American leather.
There are easier and cheaper ways to manufacture a belt. This isn't one of them.
The combination of heavyweight Wickett & Craig leather, straightforward construction, durable hardware, and Amish workmanship makes The Rancher a belt designed for people who value durability over disposable fashion.
IMPORTANT: How to Choose Your Belt Size
Do not order your pants size. Pants sizing and actual waist measurements are often very different, and simply ordering the number printed inside your jeans can result in the wrong belt size.
For the most accurate fit, measure a belt you currently own that fits you well.
- Lay your current belt flat.
- Begin measuring at the start of the leather at the buckle fold.
- Measure to the fitting hole you use most often.
- That measurement in inches is the belt size you should order from us.
- If your measurement falls on an odd number, round up to the next even size.
Our belts are sized to the center fitting hole. With five fitting holes spaced 1" apart, you'll have approximately two inches of adjustment in either direction.
Please review the sizing illustration in the product photos before ordering.

If you wear an inside-the-waistband holster or similar concealed-carry equipment, you may need additional room. Adding approximately 2 inches to your normal measured belt size is common, although individual setups may vary.
This Is a Seriously Heavy Leather Belt
At 13–14 oz, The Rancher is intentionally thick, stiff, and substantial. If you're looking for a lightweight fashion belt, this isn't it.
But if you're tired of thin belts that stretch, sag, split, or need to be replaced every couple of years, The Rancher was made for exactly the opposite reason — to give you a traditional heavyweight leather belt built for years of dependable wear.
