Distressed Vintage Buffalo Leather Belt Strap - Handcrafted in Colorado

I handcraft The Cripple Creek in Colorado Springs from one solid piece of full-grain buffalo leather with a distressed finish. This is a replacement strap only, with no buckle included. Its soft, broken-in feel and aged-looking surface suit everyday wear, with snaps for attaching a compatible removable buckle.

About the Distressed Finish

The Cripple Creek has an intentionally aged-looking finish with tonal variation and a soft feel. Choose it if you prefer a worn-in appearance rather than a smooth, uniform strap. Natural grain and surface markings vary from piece to piece.

Buckle Compatibility

The two TKK snaps open so you can attach or change a compatible buckle. Browse our 1.5" belt buckles for options. Choose a buckle designed for a 1.5-inch leather strap with a compatible attachment bar and enough clearance for the folded leather. Ratchet, clamp, and other specialty systems may require a different strap.

How to Measure Your Belt Size

Lay a belt that fits you flat and measure from the start of the leather at the buckle fold to the hole you use most often, not to the end of the buckle or the tip of the strap. That measurement is the belt size to order. If it falls between available sizes, choose the next size up. For example, a 37-inch measurement means ordering size 38. A size 38 measures 38 inches from the leather fold to the center fitting hole.

I handcraft each Cripple Creek strap in Colorado Springs, Colorado, using full-grain buffalo leather. A matching leather keeper and snap attachment let you pair it with your own compatible buckle.

Care Instructions

Wipe away dust with a soft cloth. Use a slightly damp cloth when needed, avoid soaking, and let the leather dry naturally away from direct heat. Avoid harsh cleaners and heavy conditioning that could alter the distressed finish. If the leather feels dry, test conditioner on a small, inconspicuous area before applying sparingly.

  • Cleaning: Wipe away dust and surface dirt with a clean, soft cloth. Use a slightly damp cloth when necessary, but do not soak the leather.
  • Conditioning: Apply leather conditioner only when the leather begins to feel dry. Always test it on a small, inconspicuous area first because conditioner may darken or alter the finish.
  • Drying: Allow wet leather to air-dry naturally. Do not use a hair dryer, heater or direct sunlight.
  • Storage: Store the belt in a cool, dry place. Hang it by the buckle or roll it loosely—never fold it sharply.
